March 11, 2015 – God in the Flesh (John 1)

Elvis Presley was a popular guy in his day. People would go crazy to see him or even meet him. In our day and time we have a lot of Elvis Presley impersonators. But the impersonators are not as popular as the real Elvis Presley. Now people still go to hear the impersonators, but they are not the real Elvis. Jesus was and is the real God. In John 1 it is written that Jesus was in the beginning and that He was with God. The profound statement is that He was God. Not only was He in the beginning with God, but He was God. In verse 14 it is written that Jesus who is God, came and lived among us. God became man. Could you imagine what it would be like to live as one of the disciples? To see Jesus face to face. To walk with Him, talk with Him? As Christians we would love to have such experiences. Here is the good news: you can still talk with Jesus. You can experience Him daily. You may not see Him physically, but you can experience Him through a right relationship. Because Jesus came and lived among us, willingly gave His life on the cross for our sins we are able to enter into a relationship with Him. Give thanks for what Jesus has done for you on the cross!
